Quality anker product !
I have also used it to charge my laptop via USB C. It works brilliantly and Anker is a brand that i trust for both physical and electrical build quality. I would not cheap out on high current electronics which is the exact reason i chose an Anker product. The body does get warm but anything outputting high current will generate heat so this isn't a worry. I do not worry when it comes to Anker product quality and safety.
The unit was packed very well and included a long USB C to USB C cable. Slightly pricey but when it comes to electronics, you are also paying for the safety and design of the circuitry so do not be put off into buying cheaper goods.
After using the item for a couple weeks and feeling the build quality, it is well worth the money. It is a large non-lightweight charger though due to circuitry required inside of the power supply but I still manage to lose it inside of my work bag.
The charger feels weighty and has great build quality. It looks really good. Personally, I feel it looks much sleeker and overall better than a macbook charger.
I specifically bought this for travelling as I normally take my macbook with me and the best feature of this plug is the folding prongs. The folding prongs make it much easier to pack and I don't have to worry about the plug prongs stabbing other items in my hand luggage.
I found that this device doesnt work in one scenario. I have a few Ryobi One+ tools and the one+ batteries that come with them. I also have a Ryobi battery inverter which is basically an adapter for the batteries and adds a UK plug socket onto the batteries. This charger when plugged into the inverters UK plug socket does not work at all. The Ryobi inverter just turns off. I reckon this is due to the smart "IQ" technology that is built into this plug, the inverter doesnt detect a consistent power draw and it doesnt like it so just turns off. The inverter works fine with every other plug including my normal macbook charger, but just not with this product. This small problem aside, this plug has definitely proved to be worth the cost so far and I can recommend it to other potential buyers.
